Is there a required assessment for the Safer Drivers Course?

No. There is no assessment or pass/ fail component of the Safer Drivers Course.

Will I need to supply my own vehicle to do the in-vehicle coaching part of the Course?

No. A dual-controlled vehicle will be supplied by the Course Provider.

Which hours considered as night hours?

Night means the period between sunset on one day and sunrise on the next.

Learners under 25 years must complete at least 20 hours of driving at night.

What do I have to bring with me every lesson?

Learners under 25 years have to get their licences and log books but there is no log book for learners over 25 years.

We are fully insured, your safety and instructors are covered every time you get behind the wheel with us.

How long will it take to get my license?

A.

It will depend on your skills and abilities. We teach you low risk driving, but every learner has a different skills. Normally we assess you before booking the driving test to make sure that you are ready; also learners under 25 years have to obtain their learner licences for at least 12 months.

Am I able to drive manual car if I already passed the driving test on auto?

A.

You will be restricted to drive auto vehicle until you upgrade your licence to the green P, but there is no more driving test on road.

What is the maximum speed limit for learner drivers?

: Learners will also be allowed, from 1 July 2013, to travel up to 90 km/h instead of 80 km/h, giving them more supervised driving experience on higher speed roads in preparation for their graduation to P-Plates.

What is the required age to apply for a learner driver licence?

Must be at least 16 years old.

What are the benefits of attending the Safer Drivers Course?

A.

Young drivers will be offered the chance to learn more about road safety and reduce their logbook driving hours under a raft of changes by the NSW Government covering Learner licences.
Learners who take part in a new Safer Drivers Course and also have professional lessons will be able to reduce their compulsory supervised driving hours from 120 to 80.

What does Structured Lesson Scheme means?

A.

From 19 December 2009, Learner drivers who complete a one hour structured driving lesson with a fully licensed driving instructor can record three hours driving experience in their Learner driver log book. A maximum of 10 hours of lessons will be accepted and recorded as 30 hours in the Learner driver log book.
In addition, learner drivers who are aged 25 and over will no longer be required to present a Learner driver log book prior to attempting the driving test.
Note: These changes do not mean driving lessons are compulsory or that you should stop having lessons after reaching the 10 hours of training.
